Laser treatment for scars
Its purpose is to break down existing scar collagen, which is hard and of poor quality, and stimulate the formation of new collagen with better characteristics to improve the appearance and quality of the scar.
The fractional lasers we use are:
- Fraxel laser re-store 1550nm or Frax 1550nm
For mild to moderate scars, including keloid, atrophic and hypertrophic scars. - CO2 laser
For severe and deep scars. - Picosecond laser
For mild to moderate scars, it is indicated for patients with higher skin phototypes (darker skin) and Asian patients.
Laser scar treatment can be combined with hyaluronic acid injections and/or collagen stimulators to improve the appearance of a depressed scar, as they provide a filling effect, or with corticosteroid injections in the case of keloid scars.
Number of CO2 laser sessions for scars

Aftercare
Simply apply a repairing or moisturising cream to the treated area for a few days (7–10 days), together with SPF 50+ sun protection. In specific cases, such as CO2 laser treatment for deep acne scars, an antibiotic cream and preventive treatment for herpes simplex may be recommended.
