We treat scars with hyaluronic acid and other therapies

We use this approach for atrophic scars where the skin is depressed and thinned, such as acne scars or scars caused by accidents:

  • First, we treat the scar with laser to stimulate new collagen formation.
  • We then use carboxytherapy to improve tissue oxygenation.
  • Finally, hyaluronic acid and/or collagen stimulators are used to fill the scar depression and also stimulate further collagen production.

Hyaluronic acid is indicated for atrophic scars, acne scars or scars caused by accidents, but not for keloids.

Number of sessions and time to results

This depends on the type and severity of the scars. The usual protocol is 3-5 laser sessions and 1-2 sessions of hyaluronic acid combined with carboxytherapy and/or collagen stimulators.

Normal routine and social activities can be resumed within a few hours.

Aftercare

After scar treatment with hyaluronic acid combined with carboxytherapy and/or collagen stimulators, the skin may show oedema (mild, localised swelling) and erythema (mild redness) lasting 1-3 hours. Apply a soothing repair cream twice daily for 3-4 days.

It can be uncomfortable, but it is not painful. This scar treatment can be carried out with or without topical anaesthetic cream because it is very well tolerated.
