HIFU is a focused ultrasound treatment that stimulates the natural production of collagen to firm the skin and rejuvenate the face without surgery.
- Achieves a non-invasive lifting effect, tightening the skin, smoothing wrinkles and improving the firmness of the facial contour and neck.
- Firms and lifts areas of the face such as the cheeks, eyebrows, chin, double chin and décolletage, as well as body areas including the arms, abdomen and knees.
- Stimulates new collagen production, progressively and naturally improving skin elasticity and texture.

How does HIFU work?
Before facial or body HIFU treatment, a conductive gel is applied and the appropriate handpiece is selected to emit focused ultrasound waves, which work at depth without damaging the surrounding skin. Depending on the handpiece, the waves penetrate between 1.5 and 9 mm, reaching the dermis, connective tissue and SMAS, which are responsible for the lifting effect on both the face and body.
The heat generated contracts and stimulates collagen, promoting its renewal and producing a visible firming of the skin.

When is HIFU treatment indicated?
HIFU is indicated for the face and body in the following cases:
- Facial and neck laxity:
– Jawline.
– Sagging cheeks.
– Skin of the chin and platysma. - Treatment of mild localised fat
- Body skin laxity
HIFU before and after at Ribe Clinic

Number of HIFU sessions
The number of HIFU sessions is determined according to the condition of the patient’s skin and their expectations. Normally, 1 session is enough to achieve visible results, but when two sessions are required, an interval of 3–6 months is recommended.

Aftercare following a HIFU session
No special aftercare is required because the skin remains intact. Medical skin-firming creams are recommended.
What determines the price of HIFU
The price of HIFU depends on the size of the area being treated.
Progressive results
Following HIFU treatment, there is an immediate skin contraction of 1–2 mm and in a second phase, there is a progressive tightening effect and remodelling from the day of treatment up to 3–6 months afterwards.
How does HIFU differ from a surgical facelift?

- No surgery: HIFU requires no incisions or stitches.
- Quick recovery: no scarring, no general anaesthesia and minimal discomfort.
- Natural-looking results: HIFU reactivates collagen in the deeper layers of the skin and the SMAS, tightening the skin and stimulating collagen production.
- Ideal for mild or moderate skin laxity. A surgical facelift is intended for more severe laxity and when greater skin tightening is required.
HIFU or Endolift: discover which treatment is right for you
Both Endolift and HIFU are non-surgical facial rejuvenation techniques for skin laxity, but they differ in the way they work on the skin.

- Endolift uses a fibre-optic laser that works from within the tissue to tighten the skin, stimulate collagen and reshape the facial contour, including areas with more advanced laxity or fat accumulation.
- HIFU uses focused ultrasound externally to activate collagen and gradually improve firmness, making it ideal for mild laxity or maintenance.
At Ribe Clinic we offer both medical-aesthetic technologies. Our specialists assess your skin and goals to design a personalised treatment that combines the effectiveness of Endolift with the precision of HIFU when appropriate.
