endolift facial

Endolift is an effective laser treatment for facial contouring and for removing or reducing granulomas and localised fat.

  • Provides a lifting effect: it tightens the skin, improves wrinkles and skin texture, and redefines the eyelids and facial contour.
  • Reduces or removes localised fat from difficult areas such as the double chin, cheeks or knees.
  • Removes granulomas caused by filler materials that have been incorrectly placed, gently and permanently

How does Endolift work?

Endolift applies laser energy from a 1470 nm diode inside the skin through a very fine optical microfibre measuring 200–600 microns thick. The optical fibre creates a microperforation in the skin and enters it until it reaches the dermis, subcutaneous tissue or filler material, at a depth of between 1 and 8 mm depending on the area.

The laser fibre inside the skin emits heat in the treated area to produce the desired effects.

Differences between Endolift and a surgical facelift

diferencias lifting endolift

How does Endolift differ from a surgical facelift?

  • No surgery: Endolift requires no incisions or stitches, only a 1 mm entry point.
  • Quick recovery: no scarring, no general anaesthesia and minimal discomfort.
  • Natural-looking results: Endolift heats the skin from within, tightens it and stimulates collagen production.
  • Ideal for mild or moderate skin laxity. A surgical facelift is intended for more severe cases.

Endolift vs HIFU: which is right for you?

endolift vs hifu

Both HIFU and Endolift are advanced treatments designed to firm the skin and address facial laxity without surgery, but they work differently and are suited to different needs.

  • HIFU works externally, emitting ultrasound energy that passes through the skin and stimulates natural collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin and the SMAS, creating a gradual, natural tightening effect.
  • Endolift uses a fibre-optic laser that is inserted into the tissue through a small skin puncture and works within the dermis and adipose tissue, providing more intensive retraction, improved facial contour and a reduction in localised fat.

At Ribe Clinic we offer both technologies, allowing us to assess each case individually and recommend the most appropriate treatment according to the degree of laxity, facial structure and each patient’s goals.

Frequently asked questions about Endolift

The laser first heats the area and then melts the filler, as all permanent fillers are sensitive to heat. Thanks to the laser’s thermal effect, the contents of the granulomas become liquid and the dissolved substance leaves the tissue through the microperforation created when the laser’s optical fibre is inserted.

Endolift should not be used in cases of severe skin laxity and/or large accumulations of fat. In these cases, surgery is the alternative.

A local anaesthetic is injected before the treatment.

The maintenance required after an Endolift session will depend on why the treatment was performed:

  • For example, no maintenance is required when Endolift is used to remove filler material.
  • When it is used to treat skin laxity, maintenance will depend on the patient’s age and skin condition if the results are to be preserved, as ageing is an ongoing process.

The duration of results from both facial and body Endolift depends on the patient’s initial condition and aftercare. Once achieved, the results usually last approximately 2–3 years. However, ageing does not stop and continues over time, so maintenance treatments are required to preserve the results.

After an Endolift session, swelling and bruising may occur and, in rare cases, there may be a temporary alteration in the function of a nerve in the treated area. It is therefore very important that the doctor performing the treatment is highly experienced.

Both treatments address skin laxity, but:

  • Endolift uses laser energy, while Thermage uses radiofrequency.
  • Endolift targets a more specific area, while Thermage acts more globally across the face and neck.
  • Endolift is minimally invasive, while Thermage is completely non-invasive.
  • Endolift requires anaesthesia, while Thermage does not.
  • Endolift may cause swelling and bruising after treatment, while Thermage does not have these side effects.
  • Endolift is more powerful for treating skin laxity and can also reduce fat in the area, whereas Thermage cannot.

Endolift can be performed at any time of year.
